An American soldier suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome plays a virtual reality simulation game in which he mans a machine gun mounted on the back of an open top army SUV as it navigates the streets of downtown Kabul. This is a close crop scan of a magazine picture the artist took on assignment for TIME Magazine in 2010. The idea of the simulation being that it would ultimately help enable the soldier to transcend his horror of war and return to active duty. The visible pattern is the CMYK dot matrix (cyan, yellow, magenta, key or black) that are the four colours of ink used in the traditional method of printing hardcopies of images.
